ケルトデザインが仕上がった。

今日は貝のカービングペンダントをホームページにアップ。

デザインは“ケルティックノット”



昔、飛行機の中の雑誌を読んだ時に、ヨーロッパの先住民族であるケルトの人々と後のローマ人の芸術性の違いの特集記事を読んだのを覚えてる。

詳しくは覚えてないんだけど、ローマ人とケルト人の作った貨幣に施したデザインを比べて、ケルトのものは自由さと迫力が段違いに良かった印象が今でも頭に残ってる。

ケルトのデザインはその発想をさえぎるものなど何も無いかの様に描く事が出来る。

鳥の足が顔の前に来たり、あっちの方向にいったり、こっちの方向に来たり、とても自由。

いつかほんの少しでもいいから見習えたらほんと嬉しいね・・。

we uploaded a new shell carving pendant to our homepage today.

the design is the “celtic knot　”

i remember that i have read a magazine in a plane long time ago which featured about the difference between roman's art and celtic's who lived in Europe before romans came.

although i don't remember the details of it now but the article was to compare with the design of coins between romans and celts.

some impresssion is still in my head that i was amazed about the way of celtic which was totally freedom and so powerful.

the celtic design can be anything they like.. looks like nothing can hold their imagination..

legs of birds in the way of celtic can be drawn in the right front of its bird face, or drawn totally in different directions. which is very very freedom.

i would be so happy one day if i could have a bit of taste of the celtic way in my desings..
