　おはようございます。

　新しいブログのアドレスのお知らせです。

　まだ、仮ですが

　どちらにしても、新ホームページから簡単にブログに行けるようになっています。

　重要なお知らせです。

　現在ホームページを作り直しています。

　少しの間、ウェブストアが見れなくなっていますが、なにとぞご容赦ください。

　これにともなって、、

　実は！店の名前を変更することになりました。

　ＴＲＩＢＵとＦＡＴＨＡＮＤＳというふたつの名前で長い間やってきましたが、

　ふたつの名前を持つことはいろいろ不都合な面もありました・・・。

　そこで、　この度！

　店名を思い切って変更し、

　”　ＩＢＵＱＵＩ　”　（いぶき）という名で統一させていただき、

　あらたにスタートすることになりました。

　取り扱いの商品はこれまで通り、自然素材を中心にしたオーガニックジュエリーです。

　ＴＲＩＢＵの商品とＦＡＴＨＡＮＤＳのカービングに加え、他海外のカービングジュエリーも幅広く取り揃えていきたいと思っています。

　また、

　これから、ＩＢＵＱＵＩとしての製作は、海外にも通用するようなオーガニックカービングジュエリーを作っていきたいと思っています。そのときのためにも、店名は日本らしいものにしたいと思い、”　いぶき”　という名にしました。

　それと、もうひとつ。

　ブログも新しいホームページが完成次第、引っ越すことになります。

　アドレスは出来次第、こちらでお知らせします。

　変えるべきか、変えないべきか、店名もブログもいろいろと今回は悩みましたが、

　すべて変えてしまおう！と思ってしまいました。

　で、あとはスタート切るのみです。

　名前がかわったから自分たちがやっていることが変わるわけではありませんが、自分たちが見る目標と幅の広さは一気に広がります。楽しみです。

　それでは、今後とも今まで同様変わらぬご愛顧よろしくお願いいたします！

　

　  

Again,, I took quite a while to write again my blog. I kind of knew that…
It’s been very slow, especially since this year started. I’m sorry.

Actually, lots things going on and on, so I don’t have any problem to write the blog though my mind has been completely occupied by rebuilding our new web store for over a couple of months.

Well, of course I am talking about it apart from my carvings.

This is the latest one I did for a customer.

It didn’t take me too long to make the main parts (ebony and shells ) of the earrings though I always find a couple of things I don’t know during working with silvers. That had me taking too long for this time as well. Perhaps there are loads of room I need to open for silvers.

Also, there is nothing to relate to the silver knowledge,

I did a stupid mistake that I drained a couple of very important silver parts to the sink.

I had spent quite a long time to make those parts so I was so pissed by myself and angrily forced to open the very long drainpipe under the sink.
Thanks to god, I found them soon after that and no one watched what I was doing. I am sure that I was looked like breaking the sink and the all the pipes belong to.

Never that again. Crossing finger.

Anyway, these are the earrings I made.

　

　the materials are ebony and paua shell. Motif are the sun and the moon.

Although while I was making the moon, it only reminds me one of my favorite Japanese snacks “Kaki no Tane” because of the ebony color/ maybe.. It looks very alike to the crescent moon, anyway.

I sent this picture to the customer. Hope she like them. (actually she did.)

　おひさしぶりです。

　今年に入ってからブログ書くペースが超スロー化してるねぇ。

　あれ書こう、これ書こうってのはあるんだけど、、

　日々、新しいホームページ製作にとらわれ中で、、あたまがどーもブログまでたどり着けないっす。

　で、、、

　こちらもすごい長い時間頂いて製作したイヤリング。

　シルバーのパーツ以外は結構早く仕上げたんだけど、、やっぱシルバーはまだまだ分からんこと多し。妙に時間食ってしまう。

　関係ないけど、

　途中、仕上げたシルバーを流しに流して一日つぶしたりとアホイ事もやってしまったし・・・。←　根性で見つけました　＾＾；

　んで、、

　これが仕上げたイヤリング。

　

　素材は黒檀とパウアシェルで、太陽と月がモチーフ。

　作ってる最中は、三日月が”柿の種”に見えてしかたがなかった。ｗｗ

　今日、お客さんには写真送ったんで、気に入って貰えるといいんだけどね。＾＾

this is what I finished yesterday.

The other day, one of our regular customers asked us if we could make turtles out of Yakougai.

He said

“he bought a turtle bone necklace in Okinawa but he lost it somehow…“

So he wants to have it again but out of Yakougai(=famous shell from Okinawa) for this time.

he brought us a picture to the shop some days later.

It was a traditional design from Hawaii “Honu” which means turtles.

The picture was like this. (sorry for shit drawing!)

　

he said that the design and size are all on me like I can do whatever I like as long as I make the turtles.

So, after some days later,

I drew some sketches and decided making it not too big like 40mm in height.

But I wanted thickness so much for the design as thicker as possible.

To find thicker shell is always problem and there wasn’t an exception for this time either.

it took me days and days till I came across a good piece for the design.

Anyway,,

I finally got started making it soon after I found it.

So, I carved like waves inside of the turtles instead of making holes like the original. Because I didn’t want a big change from the original design but I also wanted making it differently.

And

There was another important thing that customer wants neither a hole for string on the carving nor hanging from the neck. Well, hanging doesn’t look good, of course.

So,,, what I did was

Made a bead from the same shell and used it for the strings which come through from the both side of the under arms.

I left the gap between the body and arms as narrow as possible for just in case of loosing the strings.

Then I finished it!

Actually,, it was my first time to make the Honu and I enjoyed myself very mush. ^^

　昨日仕上がった夜光貝の亀。

　常連のお客さんから、

　「沖縄で購入したボーンネックレスの亀をなくしてしまったので、同じデザインを夜光貝で作って欲しい」

　と相談を受けた。

　持ってきてもらった写真をみると、

　ハワイの伝統的なデザインのＨＯＮＵ。こんな感じ。

　

　（すみません、、へたくそで・・・。）＾＾；

　「デザインは変更してもＯＫだし、サイズも任せます。」とのこと。

　では、と、

　サイズは小さくまとめることにして、高さを４０ｍｍに決定。

　ただ、厚みはあるだけ欲しかったので、けっこう素材探しに苦労した。

　やっぱ、ないんだよね、、厚い貝ってのは・・・。

　まぁ、高さ４０ｍｍと小さめだったので、作れそうな素材を発見。

　で、

　製作開始。

　まったく同じものを作っても面白くないんで、デザインは少々変更して、中部分をくり抜き「波」のように削ってみた。
　
　もうひとつ、、お客さんの重要な要望だったのが

　「紐を通す穴を開けないで欲しいが、、首から吊るすこともしないで欲しい！」とのこと。たしかに、ハンギングは見ため良くないんで、、

　ん～・・・・と、考えた末、

　ビーズをひとつ用意して両脇のしたに紐を通すことに。このビーズがないと結構不安定。
　
　紐が外れても落ちないように、一応体と手の部分の隙間は最小に留めることに。

　で、、

　完成したのが上の写真。

　初めて作ったにしては上出来かな・・と満足してます。＾＾

　そんなこんなの夜光貝のホヌでしたー。

  

It’s been so cold lately especially in morning and night that I need to wear many cloths on me even in the house. Freezing…

So now, I’m very much wondering if we could use an oil heater at home and make the rooms warm and comfortable. I know what we should do is just do it without telling anything to our landload. Oh yes, why not.

By the way,

I am now trying to take photos in different way than I used to…

Well,, not me yet… a friend of mine “Photographer Yossy” came to Tokyo to help us and now he is organizing everything and taking pictures so far. What I do is sitting next to him and doing just an assistant for his work. It is very good to me that I can ask any question came up in my head. Good learning.

So far, we have bought special light and table so that we would be able to manage taking proper photos, although there are still a lot of stuff we need to buy according what he is saying...

However, in such circumstance he is doing beautiful works really. brilliant job! I must thank to him. Maybe his career is saying a lot, I suppose.

Anyway, this is a pair of 10mm body piercings that I made for a custom order.

　I think those pictures are so beautiful, aren’t they?

If I tell everything, we are going to built our new web site and want to use all those pictures for that new one.

It will be really tough for some while for us… but we think it would be worth so much for our future. So, it’s very exciting as well.

Perhaps, the design of this blog will be renewed too!
